Each time I find a new website, or revisit sites used in the past, I must admit to being both surprised and thrilled whenever ‘new’ information about Powditch family members - both of the present and from the past - is discovered.
Whilst I don’t promise to post links to those websites on a daily basis, I will try and add whatever I can, as often as possible (health problems, looking after grandchildren, or dog and the garden, plus a few other things do keep me away from the computer quite often!)
You probably will have already read my post about what records for Powditch are held on the Australian version of the findmypast website but perhaps not realised is that findmypast.co.uk is just one part of the brightsolid group, although regrettably (very regrettably I say) one has to be a member of nearly each site within the findmypast tribe in order to access records from other countries (the explanation on the Australian site says:-
“Findmypast.com.au is a standalone service offering access to family history records from Australia, New Zealand, Pacific Islands and Papua New Guinea. It is completely separate from findmypast.co.uk
If you have a subscription to findmypast.co.uk, you will continue to access the records included in your subscription through the UK site. If you purchase a subscription through findmypast.com.au, you will be able to access the records available through this site. If you wish to use both findmypast.com.au and findmypast.co.uk, you will need to create an account on each website and use these separate details to sign in.”
Should you be interested in the other findmypast sites, they are (as at Sep 2011) findmypast.ie, ScotlandsPeople, GenesReunited, Friends Reunited and 1911Census.co.uk although the surname of Powditch doesn’t (currently) appear on either the findmypast.ie or ScotlandsPeople sites.
